Dear Ambassador Lighthizer: The American Frozen Food Institute (AFFI), on behalf of its member companies, respectfully requests the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) include import tariff exemptions for Ecuadorian frozen broccoli and cauliflower within the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP). As the voice of the U.S. frozen food industry, AFFI is the member-driven national trade association that advances the interests of all segments of the frozen food and beverage industry. Please find attached our comments in support of our request to re-designate frozen broccoli and cauliflower as being eligible for duty-free treatment within GSP. These modifications will provide significant relief from a sizeable tariff on Ecuadorian frozen broccoli and cauliflower and result in decreased costs for the industry. Respectfully submitted, Sanjay Gummalla Vice President, Scientific and Regulatory Affairs American Frozen Food Institute
